Our Story
Sparkle Strands are the passion and creativity of Brianna Torres. Hair Sparkles came into Brianna’s life in 2015 at a house concert in Berkeley, CA where Very Fairy-manda was working her magic. She was mesmerized from the beginning and knew that these little silk sparkles were special. Brianna felt called to learn to sparkle herself and spread the sparkle joy wherever she went. She sparkled from that day forward and finally birthed Sparkle Strands in 2019. Since then, Sparkle Strands has blossomed organically in Central Oregon and now in Eugene thanks to our Sparkle Squad.
We love being able to offer the Central Oregon community a piece of empowerment created with love and intention. With every sparkling experience, Sparkle Strands strives for each client to feel connected to their beauty and goodness. We are beings of light afterall. These sparkles help outwardly express that light—and remind us of our own inner sparkle each time we look in the mirror! It’s pretty hard not to smile.

What lights you up about Sparkle Strands?
The smiles they bring when somebody first looks in the mirror. The connections I've created, both within my community and to myself. They help bridge us with others and remind us of our inner light and beauty.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
My daughter Jaden, laying in a hammock watching the stars, singing around a campfire, deep conversations with my loved ones, snuggles on the couch, building community, traveling to places that expand my mind and deepen my connection to humanity, grooving at live music and wandering through the forest. Oh and hot springs. Love those!

What lights you up about Sparkle Strands?
I love everything about Sparkle Strands - most especially the joy they bring! To see my clients of all ages walk away with a big smile on their face, that is truly fulfilling. These hair diamonds, as I like to say, uplift their spirit. That is pretty powerful.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
Spending quality time with family and friends, most of all with my sweet and adventurous grandchildren! I enjoy refurbishing old things, creating succulent and cactus gardens and being outdoors in our beautiful Central Oregon playground. Playing for me varies from hiking our numerous trails, camping, working in my garden or paddling on our abundance of lakes and rivers.

What lights you up about Sparkle Strands?
I love that Sparkling is so different from my regular full time job as a nurse and that it connects me with people in the community that I otherwise may have never met.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
Well of course all the typical Bend things (preferably taken to the type 2 fun level and followed by a beer); skiing, trail running, mountain and road biking, climbing, and pretty much anything else that is outside and makes me sweat. Other things that bring me joy include; slow quiet mornings, the sounds of nature, Facetiming with my family, organizing/cleaning, solo road trips and listening to stories told by older generations.

I love seeing how much joy it brings to everyone that sits in my chair. It’s so fun when someone that has been sparkled before comes up with their friends and can’t wait to share it with them.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
Beyond sparkling, I love skiing, mountain biking, playing guitar and spending time on the river with my border collie pup.

What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
When I'm not sparkling, I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, jiu jitsu and good food!

What lights me up about Sparkle Strands is seeing the pure joy and excitement on people’s faces when they experience their sparkling hair for the first time. I really enjoy the hands on aspect of this work. It’s a fun skill to know and be able to offer our community.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
Beyond sparkling I enjoy being with my two daughters and my partner. We love exploring the outdoors, both in Central Oregon and beyond. One of our favorite spots is Wickiup Reservoir in the summer.

I love sparkle strands ability to create connection through simple joy. Having the opportunity to light up the magic in people’s lives and knowing every client leaves with a little more sparkle in their step is an honor and so much fun.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
Beyond sparkles I like to fill my life with music, jewelry, flowers and a good book. I also love to spend time connecting with my community or treating myself to a classic PNW roadtrip.

There is something truly special about getting to meet new people and playing a small part in making them feel amazing. What lights me up most about Sparkle Strands is knowing that what we do gives people an extra reason to smile.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
Nature, traveling, and soaking up live music are my happy places. There's nothing better than exploring somewhere new or losing yourself in a great set. When I'm home, my dog Aspen keeps life fun and full of adventure. And at the end of the day, it's all about the people, good times with friends and family are what truly light me up!

What lights you up about Sparkle Strands?
Sparkles have allowed me to get creative and add color without the commitment of completely changing my hair, which I love. Learning to spread the magic through sparkles and making connections to others has added to my life in the best of ways.
What lights you up beyond Sparkling?
When not sparkling or adventuring outside with our family, I can be found at a Duck game or jamming to live music. I also love submerging myself in all things birth, postpartum and homeopathy related. My happy place is camping, listening to good music and having meaningful conversation around a fire pit.
